Yes, resolution means you want to get something, or want to have something done. If you don't really want, you will never get.
But what is "any one thing"? Dose he means "any thing" or "any other thing"?

"keep company with" means "work with, make friend with", from where you live, who you live with, what you work on, I can also identify what person you are, some times very priciously.
